However, that puts you in the position of risking your friendship with either, or even both of them, as either one might feel you're taking the other's side. It has the greatest risk, but possibly the greatest reward. If you trust them to both value their friendship with you that much, and to be reasonable enough to put that ahead of their enmity and jealousy with each other, then it could work.
