Other than their friendship with you, do they have any reason to try to work things out?

If not, then you're facing the toughest part. You could ask them both to act as your body guard and best friend, and as such, ask them to find a way to work with each other peaceably. However, that puts you in the position of risking your friendship with either, or even both of them, as either one might feel you're taking the other's side. It has the greatest risk, but possibly the greatest reward. If you trust them to both value their friendship with you that much, and to be reasonable enough to put that ahead of their enmity and jealousy with each other, then it could work. But like I said, it has a great risk.
