032 ~ [voice/action] | Throughout the Week
[The last experiment was a weird one, but thankfully nothing too traumatic happened for it to stick with Ion in the long term -- even if he is kind of upset that he spent a few days as a girl again and, just as last time, apparently no one noticed. He's not that girly, is he? Sigh. His former Manliness instructor would be so disappointed.]
[But he's not going to dwell on that too much, because it's almost May 1st! And that means it's almost his birthday! He missed his chance at getting to celebrate on the actual day in the years past due to various different circumstances, but this year he'd definitely have a birthday party! He's never had one before, after all... but other than that, he's not really sure what else someone might do for their birthday. And he wanted this year to be special! Which is what eventually inspires a short post over the journal:]
If you could do whatever you wanted on your birthday, our current circumstances permitting, what would you do?
I've been thinking about this myself for a few days now, but I don't have much experience with celebrating my own birthday. So I was wondering what other people might do to celebrate the occasion.
[House One - April 27 - May 1st]
[But as the day wears on, Ion starts to find himself feeling a little under the weather. It starts with a cough, quickly escalates into a fever, and by around late afternoon he staggers into the house with his face flushed and looking worse for the wear. He won't really stop to talk, instead making a quick beeline for his room and crawling into bed. He'll probably pass on dinner that night as well.]
[And unfortunately for him, that's where he'll be staying for the next few days, all the way through his birthday on May 1st. He'll be more lucid by then at least, but still mostly confined to his bed. Looks like whatever birthday plans he eventually settled on would have to be put on hold this year as well.]
[ooc: House One folks/visiting CR can choose any day in that gap or just skip ahead to his birthday if you want!]

I was feeling a bit under the weather and decided to come home and lay down... somehow I don't think the nap helped at all.

You might be sick, then. [Again, it feels like it happens a lot even when it doesn't really. Nephry comes closer, standing beside his bed and reaching for his forehead, knowing full well he's within his rights to duck her.]
Are you hungry at all? I can bring you tea and something light to eat.
no subject
I'm not so sure I could keep it down even if I were... though some tea might help settle my stomach a bit.

I'll ask Tear and Natalia to look in on you, too, unless you would prefer someone else. [A kind, but devious smile.] Jade, perhaps?
no subject
[Also it's probably a sign of how bad he must feel that the offer of Jade isn't met with any kind of reaction -- if he could be of help right now, Ion certainly wouldn't refuse it.]

Lie back down, then. I'll be back in a little while.

[He nods and lays back down, pulling the blanket back over his head with a slight shiver.]

[He may not say anything, but stealthily following in behind Nephry is Colonel, who whines loudly when he sees Ion still laying in bed. Resting his chin up on the edge of the bed and staring at Ion, he whines again until Ion reaches out to pat his head.]

If I still feel this way tomorrow, perhaps then, I should... I don't quite feel up for walking there right now.
[He did ask for tea to settle his stomach after all. Being nauseous was the worst feeling in the world and no one would be able to convince him otherwise.]

[Ion doesn't look as though he feels up to sitting and drinking tea. Nephry tries to put an arm around his shoulders to help him do it.]
We'll see what the others say. [If Jade or one of the girls says go, then they are going.]
no subject
[He doesn't answer until he's laying back down again, shifting over to his side and curling up a bit.]
All right... [He hates everything right now, clearly, but he still manages a smile for Nephry.] Thank you, Nephry. You're always taking such good care of me.

[She snuck medicine and a sip of water in there, before he went back horizontal, and since he's still obviously feverish she has a cool damp cloth for his forehead, too.
Beside her, Colonel paws at the floor.]
Oh, all right. But don't pester him.
[He's well-behaved for a dog. Really he is. And he's up on the bed to flop down, lying so his back is against Ion's back.]

The last time I got sick like this so suddenly, it took over a week for me to become well again... I hope this won't be a repeat of back then. [Is he pouting? He's totally pouting. At least a little. Because his birthday is totally in less-than-a-week.]
no subject
I want to hope so, too, but staying sick for longer than most people might be something you just have to live with.
