It might be possible to test it using a simulation in the battledome? Perhaps not something entirely similar to what we're trying to do, but at the very least, attempting to control fonons using something other than a fonic arte should be simple enough to test.
I'm not very familiar with the battledome, but if the fonons used in the arte were generated by the dome itself, there shouldn't be any danger as long as the safety is on, right?

He's not sure whether those fonons would be the same ones found in the battledome, or whether the ones in the battledome would also be simulated. If it's the latter case, they wouldn't be able to do any real damage if they went out of control. But if it were the former, and something did happen... well, anything could happen.]
