Hm... well, seventh fonons are connected to healing arts, aren't they? I've compared some of my magic to Professor Gelda's over the years, so an arte to draw them out could come from there.

[There also was the time Asch had asked her to help provide healing magic to give Luke a new body a few years ago...]

That's right, healing artes use the seventh fonon. I'm a seventh fonist as well, and while I should be able to help start the flow of fonons without much trouble, anything more would likely put my body under too much stress...

But if you can find a way to remove the fonons, you should be able to use a similar method to contain them. That is to say, if it's possible for someone who isn't a fonist to harness them at all, there's no reason there should be any difference between controlling them and containing them. It's just a matter of finding an arte that would work for something like this...

Yes... and it's not something that we can readily test, unless we could create a simulation to try our theories on.

It might be possible to test it using a simulation in the battledome? Perhaps not something entirely similar to what we're trying to do, but at the very least, attempting to control fonons using something other than a fonic arte should be simple enough to test.

I'm not very familiar with the battledome, but if the fonons used in the arte were generated by the dome itself, there shouldn't be any danger as long as the safety is on, right?

[Though that in itself could be something of a gamble -- Luceti did have its own source of naturally occurring fonons, though less-so than on Auldrant. He's not sure whether those fonons would be the same ones found in the battledome, or whether the ones in the battledome would also be simulated. If it's the latter case, they wouldn't be able to do any real damage if they went out of control. But if it were the former, and something did happen... well, anything could happen.]

Hm... I've run some tests in the dome before, though admittedly nothing of this caliber. If Jade would be willing to lend a hand with some of the necessary specifics, Mia and I can handle the rest of the tests.

Yes. We discussed it a short time ago, though he needed time to get back to me about whether or not he considered it plausible. Once that was done, I thought it was time to get your opinion as well.

In that case, I'm sure he would be willing to assist you with a test. Though Jade himself isn't a seventh fonist, he's more than knowledgeable enough about fonons in general. If he believes this would work, then I would trust his judgement.
