[At times like this, the family resemblance between Tear and Van becomes very, very apparent. And since Tear hasn't said anything, well, what else can Ion do but assume that glare is reserved for him?]

Would... it be better if I left? I understand if you don't want to see me right now.

[He's having a fair amount of trouble looking back at her right now himself.]

[If Tear were aware that Ion believed the glare was meant for him she would have been quick to reassure him, but since neither of them had said anything yet at this point there is no need to relent it.]

You don't have to, I was on... my way to meet someone. [And instead she had done this. If she weren't so angry with herself the look on her face would have turned into one of abject horror.]

I see... [No he doesn't. As far as he's concerned, they have little reason to sit here and continue this awkward glare-fest. Ion knows when he's not wanted (or so he thinks) and so, despite what Tear just said, he's already scrambling to stand.]

[His eyes stay pointedly at the ground. He can't look at her. Not when he's still blushing so much so obviously...!]

In the case, I shouldn't be keeping you. [...!!] Not that I was intending to do so in the first place, of course... er, that is to say, not that I really had any intentions at all, but...

[Tear, he's going to bolt in about 5 seconds. This is, in all likelihood, the first time he's ever been so scattered and flustered in front of Tear and it's not exactly a moment he wants to prolong.]

[It is the first time he's ever been like this in front of her, and she can't help but be taken aback just a little, just enough to off-set her glare and some of her anger. A part of her knows that he hadn't meant for this to happen, but it's buried beneath just how mortified she felt as she stood up to make her own escape.]

[He'd love to just nod -- nod and walk out of here as fast as his feet could take him and try to pretend this didn't just happen, but he has more manners than that. Embarassed as he is, he manages to calm himself enough to answer.]

Yes. Yes, at home. Perhaps... not until later tonight.

[Provided he doesn't just hide out at Kohan's place in shame... oh, how will he even explain this to Kohan!?]

If you'll excuse me? [And she is moving to try to leave the immediate area, her face still pink with blush and unable to meet his eyes while trying not to think of how to explain this to Freyjadour. He would forgive her but that didn't make it any easier.]

[Wordlessly, Ion simply nods and lets her leave, waiting until she's out of earshot before turning around around himself and pressing a hand against his chest with a deep sigh.]
