[Those paying attention to the journals may notice a rather sudden THWACK ringing out from one of the pages. The reason? A certain someones journal has just become an impromptu weapon against a nearby Tease. Unfortunately for Ion, he only noticed Allen's entry after deciding to read a book with the window wide open in his bedroom. Before getting even halfway through reading the PSA, a small group of the butterflies in question had fluttered into the room! This had been just a bad month all around, wasn't it?

The journal falls open to the ground as the boy rushes over to slam the window shut. Immediately after, occupants of House One will find Ion checking all the rooms in the house to be sure the windows are tightly closed, and all the while a small trail of blood is flowing unattended down his cheek.]

[After some time passes, Ion returns to his discarded journal and picks it up with a heavy sigh. First burning trees fell from the sky and now... biting butterflies! Not to mention Anise was still kidnapped... while she didn't have to deal with all this, staying with the Malnosso was no picnic either. In a moment, he speaks.]

Is this the Malnosso's doing? Or does no one know for sure yet?

[These little creatures were certainly persistent! Without a word, Ion moved in to help, swiping at a few of them with his staff and knocking them to the ground, where they were easily crushed. Thankfully, they really weren't difficult to kill.]

Are you alright, Nephry?

[she smacked a few with books and got in a nice stab of one with her fountain pen, but has bleeding bite marks on her hands and arms for her trouble]

It's nothing serious. What about you? [spots his face] We should clean that.

[Cue Ion noticing the wound on his cheek where he'd been bitten. But one bite couldn't compare to the numerous ones Nephry received.]

That's a good idea. There should be some bandages in the kitchen... [He glances down at the Teases.] Hopefully there aren't any more of those floating around here.

[well then they can do each other the mutual favor of first aid]

Yes, hopefully. ...What sort of an experiment...

Whatever this is, someone here seems to know. There was a page in the journal warning about them. I wish I'd seen it in time to close my window...

[Walking and talking, Ion was headed for the kitchen to get a wet cloth to wipe up the blood. Seconds later, he was handing one to Nephry before looking for the bandages!]

[Nephry actually went right for the cupboard where she keeps the first aid supplies. ...When you live with people like Jade, Dist and Peony...you learn to be well stocked. The house first aid kit is actually quite decent; she accepts the wet cloth with a gentle but distracted smile]

I hope His Majesty and Saphir are all right.

I'm sure they are. [If they were not all right and were home, he and Nephry would have certainly heard something by now! But if they weren't home...]

Aside from their bite, these things are like regular butterflies. Small, fragile... [~~And pure EVIL.~~] ...though we should be sure to check that the rest of the windows are closed.

[And here comes Peony, who is muttering darkly under his breath.]

[she's in the middle of wiping off Ion's face with a different wet cloth when Peony walks in]

[Ion similarly looks over at the approaching Peony, a slight frown on his face.]

Did you have a run in with those butterflies as well?

Unfortunately. [There are a couple of bites on his arms, but nothing serious.] I see the two of you were victims as well.

I've certainly learned a lesson about leaving the window open on pleasant days.

[but since Peony's not bleeding to death] I apologize, Fon Master. [because it will sting when she does this next thing but she does it anyway, a bit of disinfectant before the band-aid]

[Ion takes in a sharp breath, but thankfully the pain didn't last long and then he was all patched up!] It's fine. Thank you, Nephry.

That's Nephry for you, always taking care of other people. [As if in response to that, he wets another cloth and gently dabs Nephry's wounds.]

[well if you all would stop needing to be taken care of. But to be fair, she lets Peony have a turn now. Anyway those bites are painful and she wants them dealt with]

[And with Nephry being taken care of, Ion moves to wring out the other used cloth, taking the opportunity to glance out the window.]

...I hope this won't last long. It would be inconvenient, being stuck inside all this time. [And if this was an experiment, that could mean a whole week at least!]

[lalala disinfectant then bandage. Lorelei knows where he learned to do this.]

I just hope we have enough food to last us for a week at the most.

[she doesn't really like having her hands and arms all bandaged but it will have to do for now. And Ion will have to deal with Peony.]

Even if we don't, I'm not sure it's worth the risk of being eaten alive.

[With a fresh cloth, Ion moves over to Peony and gently wipes away the blood before preparing some disinfectant.] This will sting a little. [And then covering the wounds with the bandages. Hopefully they wouldn't run out of these, either.]

[The Emperor shoots Ion a grateful look, which quickly turns into a grimace.]

Something tells me this isn't an experiment, just like those trees a few days ago.

[aren't there enough problems in Luceti without the residents causing them, too?]

I don't know anyone who keeps carnivorous butterflies.

What could someone possibly gain from this... [He asked, knowing the answer. Some people didn't need reasons to cause harm to others.]

[Aww Ion don't look so sad. Peony decides not to show them the exploding people he's seen in the journals.

After his wounds are all wrapped up-] Thank you, Fon Master.

We'll have to keep a closer watch on the journals than usual. [her expression turns rather cold] I don't want Anise coming back to all this.

It's the least I could do. [A ghost of a smile appears on his face for a brief moment, but quickly fades into a pained frown when Nephry speaks up. As much as he missed Anise, to have her come back to this...]

I... I'll go see if the rest of the windows are closed. [He shoots both of them a fleeting glance before heading off to check the rest of the house.]
