[After accidentally getting caught in the downpour on Wednesday, Ion was pretty sure he was getting a cold. No, scratch that, he was pretty sure he had a cold, but he had been trying his very best to supress it. Summer had only just ended, and catching a cold already was just so...!]

[Well, it was annoying, that was for sure! Although he made it through one day as usual, the next day wasn't looking as promising: a cough and a fever. That meant being stuck in bed for the next few days, at least. That is, unless there was something he could do to try and hurry things along!]

Er, does anyone know any good remedies for getting over a cold? Preferably ways to get over it faster?

[He probably should have boosted that filter up, but he didn't really think Anise wouldn't realize he was sick; she knew him too well. But at the very least, she'd keep from figuring it out until he didn't get up for breakfast!]

[She was going to give him a level stare and a smart answer, but then he starts coughing and she's at his bedside in a flash.]

I'm not very good at hiding it, am I? [Not that he was really trying to keep it a secret, of course. He leans over to get a better look at that soup.]

Well, I didn't know it was going to start raining so much on the way back from the library, so I didn't think to bring an umbrella with me when I went out. [See, totally not his fault!] Although I guess it was pretty cloudy when I left...

I'm sorry. I'll be sure to be more careful when going out in uncertain weather from now on! ...er, and probably bring an umbrella with me whenever I'm out, regardless of the weather. Just in case.

That's probably a good idea. Won't do for you to get sick too often! You're lucky I'm around to look after you and stuff.

[He'll be taking a spoonful of that soup now... delicious! A thousand times better than anything Ion could make for himself. Which, with a short laugh, prompts him to answer his own question.] ...heh, I'd probably starve.

Oh, boo. The Colonel's not a bad cook, and he does like you, Ion! He wouldn't try to poison you, so you'd survive~ ♥

And if not, well, Nephry'd make sure you're okay. [She smiles. Still, though, if it were up to her, she'd take the responsibility of looking after him herself all the time. If you want a job done right, after all!]

[Ion smiles right back, drinking up spoonfuls of soup between coughs.] I'm still rather out of sorts, but the soup is helping! I hope I'm well enough to go to school once the weekend is over...

[Classes had only just started, after all! Missing out so early on was just disappointing.]
